The Arts, Media & Production (AMP) department is looking forward to another successful year in all studio and performance courses! Our studio courses are designed to build student choice and voice while integrating technology, traditional, and non-traditional materials and techniques to create personalized studio experiences.
Studio art courses allow students to have choice and voice while exploring a variety of themes and topics. Student learn to think like artists as they work through the artistic studio process gaining a wide range of knowledge and skills while creating personal works of art. AP Studio Drawing, 2D, and 3D as well as AP Photo students will further develop their portfolios through a sustained investigation rooted in personal inquiry. Visit AP Art And Design College Board’s website to learn more information about each portfolio. A sketchbook is required for all studio art courses and will be provided at the beginning of the year. Students will use their sketchbook to explore materials and techniques as well as plan design solutions in our choice-based studio environment.
Vocal music and guitar students will develop their performance skills, sight reading and music appreciation through exploration of various genres and performance opportunities including a winter and spring showcase. Our music and technology students gain skills using industry standards in digitally creating, altering, amplifying, and performing music while exploring digital audio software.
Interactive media production (IMP) students will develop skills to create interactive games using industry standards and real-world applications. Students will work in creative teams acting as designers, artists, sound engineers, animators, and computer scientists.
Tele-video courses allow students to develop professional skills in video, film and television pre-production, production, and post-production. Students will gain skills in camera operation, lighting, scripts, storyboarding, digital imaging, and motion graphics to produce and host our school’s BNN morning show.
National Art Honor Society students attain their highest potential in all forms of art and raise awareness of art education throughout the school and community. Applications are accepted for new members each Spring. Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month in studio 48 with Mrs. Heuston
